Dolphins and Humans under threat.
On January 8th 2015 35 Striped Dolphins were slaughtered in Taiji Cove, Japan. Ric O'Barry found the Dolphins a few days later in a supermarket on the Highway 42.
Not only is this an incredibly sad way for these beautiful creatures to end up, there is also a toxicity issue for the humans that consume this meat. Research shows that dolphins and small whales have dangerous levels of mercury in their meat ( 20-50,000 times higher than the World Health Organisation recommends) and potentially can cause nervous system damage in humans as well as being able to be passed through to babies in pregnant women.
This needs to stop, for everyones sake.
Please support the Dolphin Project in their efforts to protect dolphins and humans alike!
