2021 Team England Junior Squad Announced
From Surfing England Press Release:
Surfing England is pleased to announce the Junior Development Squad for 2021, supported by dryrobe
After a year in which competitions and the ability to train was largely restricted, the decision was made to offer all members of the 2020 squad to continue into 2021. This includes the athletes who would normally have reached the age limit for the Junior Squad. This decision was taken as we are currently unsure what decisions the ISA will make about the structure of the World Junior Championships in 2021. In addition to those already selected in 2020, we also welcome two new surfers based on their performance at the 2020 English National Championships.
The athletes that make up the squad will have access to a variety of industry experts and dedicated coaching and training as they prepare for an exciting programme of events in 2021, including WSL Pro Junior events, the developing roster of domestic competitions, the ESF European Junior Championships (delayed from 2020) and the ISA World Junior Championships (location and dates TBC) with the ultimate aim of qualifying our athletes for surfing’s debut at the 2022 Youth Olympics in Senegal.
